Shorecrest divers excel at district

ANACORTES – Shorecrest divers Samantha Young, Deanna Wilson and Kristina Bendiksen finished 1-2-3 Saturday in the 3A District 1 meet at Fidalgo Pool.

Young scored 449.20 points, almost doubling Wilson’s total of 260.60. Bendiksen scored 233.60.

Shorecrest’s Aydan Sarikaya also qualified for next week’s state meet, winning the 500-yard freestyle in five minutes, 25.68 seconds.

Squalicum swimmers dominated the meet, winning all three relays and finishing first in four events and second in two others.
