Shorecrest remains unbeaten in the South

SHORELINE – Shorecrest swept Jackson Tuesday night, 25-12, 25-12, 25-17 in a key Wesco South volleyball matchup.

Becky Scherer’s 15 kills and Anna Herold’s 33 assists helped lead the Scots (5-0 league) to their 11th straight victory of the season. Jackson fell to 3-2, 6-4.

The freshman Herold also had 15 digs and Libby Reynolds had six kills and 10 digs for Shorecrest.

“It was very solid volleyball and a good overall game for the defense,” said Shorecrest coach Dave Morehouse.

Ashley Allen (six blocks) and Kacey Kahawaii (11 digs) led Jackson.

Lynnwood 3, Mountlake Terrace 0: At Lynnwood, senior Daylene Wilkie recorded a career-best 22 kills for Lynnwood (3-2 league, 5-5 overall), which won its third straight Wesco South match, 26-24, 25-11, 28-26 over Mountlake Terrace (0-5, 1-9).

Mariner 3, Meadowdale 0: At Everett, Sarah Morris led the Marauders (2-3 league, 2-8 overall) to the 25-17, 25-21, 29-27 Wesco South victory with 22 assists, three kills and four blocks. Krystal Craig led the Mavericks (1-4, 3-7) with 10 kills.

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Shorewood 0: At Edmonds, Erin Greenwood had 15 kills, three blocks and three aces for the Warriors (3-2 league, 5-5 overall) in their Wesco South victory over Shorewood (1-4, 2-7).

Everett 3, Kamiak 0: At Everett, Katelyn Price had nine kills and Tomeka Evans and Becca Crossen combined for 11 blocks, three aces and nine kills as Everett (5-0 in league, 10-0 overall) defeated Kamiak (2-3, 6-4) 25-14, 25-17, 25-11 in the Wesco South match. Stephanie Lau (13 kills, 12 digs) and Elisabeth Smith (20 assists) led Kamiak.

Stanwood 3, Mount Vernon 1: At Mount Vernon, Amanda Allred had 47 assists and Megan Amundson finished with 23 kills as Stanwood defeated Mount Vernon 26-24, 17-25, 26-24, 25-18 in a Wesco North match. Krista VonMoos added 10 kills for Stanwood (2-2 in league, 5-5 overall). Tara Cunningham had 17 kills and 10 digs and Ana Olson had 13 digs for Mount Vernon (1-4, 5-6).

Oak Harbor 3, Lake Stevens 0: At Oak Harbor, Krystal Rouselle led the Wildcats (3-1 league, 8-2 overall) to the 25-20, 25-22, 25-21 Wesco South victory with nine kills, five aces and 18 digs. Heidi McNeil added 15 kills for Oak Harbor. Molly Bradshaw was 15-for-15 from the serving line for Lake Stevens (3-2, 7-4).

Marysville-Pilchuck 3, Arlington 1: At Marysville, Kaytee Thomas had 20 kills and 13 digs and Melissa Thompson had 36 assists to lead M-P (3-2 league, 4-6 overall) to a 25-10, 25-14, 26-28, 25-17 Wesco North win. Shayna Prause had nine kills and Kari O’Sullivan had eight kills and three blocks for Arlington (0-4, 1-10).

Monroe 3, Cascade 1: At Everett, Roxy Ranko (10 kills), Whitney Mueller (12 kills) and Sarah Rybarczyk (22-for-24 serving with five aces) led Monroe (4-1 in league, 7-4 overall) to a 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19 Wesco North victory over Cascade (0-4, 0-7).

South Whidbey 3, Granite Falls 0: At Langley, Jessi Eaton’s 24 assists led South Whidbey (7-2 in league, 7-3 overall) to the 25-15, 25-18, 25-12 Cascade Conference victory over Granite Falls (2-6, 2-9).

Cedarcrest 3, Sultan 0: At Sultan, Karly Regalia led Cedarcrest (7-1 league, 13-7 overall) to the 25-9, 25-10, 25-10 Cascade Conference win over Sultan (0-9, 0-10) with eight aces, three kills and two digs. Britney Carlson added three aces, 20 assists, one kill and two digs.

King’s 3, Archbishop Murphy 0: At Everett, Lisa Coate had nine kills and teammate Kayelynne Huggins had five aces to lead Archbishop Murphy (4-5 league, 5-6 overall) in the 25-8, 26-24, 25-14 Cascade Conference loss. Sara Mosiman had eight kills and three aces, Alex Keeney had seven kills, two blocks, Ashley Strecker had 20 assists and four aces and Melisa Ubence had 19 digs and two aces for King’s (8-0, 9-1).

Blaine 3, Lakewood 0: At Blaine, Blaine swept Lakewood in the non-conference match, 25-14, 25-11, 25-19. Shellie Trudell led Lakewood (1-9 overall) with four kills.

Coupeville 3, Concrete 0: At Concrete, Mindy Horr led the Wolves (4-0 league, 5-0 overall) to the 25-9, 25-15, 25-16 Northwest 1A/B League victory over Concrete (0-4, 0-5) with eight aces and six kills.

Darrington 3, Shoreline Christian 2: At Darrington, Liza Schillhammer had 10 digs and eight kills and Dana Smith was 11-for-11 serving with seven kills for Darrington (5-2 league, 7-2 overall) in a 25-17, 13-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-4 Northwest 1A/B match. Shoreline Christian fell to 0-4, 3-4.

Skykomish 3, Grace Academy 0: At Marysville, Colleen Carroll was 29-for-29 serving with six aces and Darcy Gillihan added five kills, helping Skykomish (2-2 league, 8-3 overall) to a 25-13, 25-4, 25-15 Northwest B victory over Grace Academy (0-3, 0-3).
