Shoreline Christian girls advaces to semi-finals

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE -Shoreline Christian forced 27 turnovers, 18 in the first half, to defeat Seattle Lutheran 47-27 Friday night at Snohomish County Christian and advance to the semifinals of the B tri-district tournament.

“We played a very respectable (Seattle Lutheran) team,” said Crusader coach Stan DeYager. “We knew we’d have to be at the top of our defensive game, and we brought it.”

Sophomore forward Julia De Koekkoek scored a game-high 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting. She scored 10 of those points in the first half, during which, as De Yager put it, “the tone was definitely set.”
