SHORELINE – Needing a victory to sneak into the Western Conference South third playoff spot, the Shorewood football team treated Thursday night’s game with Mountlake Terrace as if it were a playoff game.

“It was win or go home,” Shorewood coach Jeff Weible.

And win they did. Shorewood manhandled Mountlake Terrace on both sides of the ball en route to 35-3 victory at Shoreline Stadium.

Shorewood will play Wesco North No. 1 Lake Stevens in a winner-to-state, loser-out playoff game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at a site to be determined.

The Thunderbirds racked up 290 yards on the ground, while also scoring five rushing touchdowns by five different players. One of these touchdowns was punched in by Seth Setterberg who ran for 142 yard on 18 carries.

“Seth has been great for us all year,” said Weible. “He is definitely our go to guy.”

On the defensive side of the ball, Shorewood held the Hawks to a total of 160 yards. With only 48 yards in the second half.

With the score 13-3 at halftime, Shorewood scored late in the third quarter to put the game away.

After forcing Mountlake Terrace to punt on its second possesion of the third quarter, Shorewood took over at midfield and handed it back to the ground game.

Four consective runs by Setterberg and a drive-capping run by quarterback Kevin Young gave the Thunderbirds 21-3 lead.
