SHORELINE – The Kamiak Knights came into their Wesco South showdown against Shorewood red hot, having won five straight games and eight of their last nine.
That didn’t seem to phase the Thunderbirds, who have struggled to find consistency and entered the game 1 1/2 games behind the Knights.
Shorewood played spoilers Tuesday night, defeating Kamiak 57-44 to inch closer to the Knights in the battle for the division’s third seed to the 4A district playoffs.
Senior Clinton Reddie scored 16 points and the Thunderbirds used a 13-6 first quarter in defeating the Knights.
The victory gave the Thunderbirds a 2-0 record against Kamiak this season. Shorewood holds the tiebreaker should the two teams finish in a tie at the end of the season.
Kamiak was led by Ben Iddins’ 18 points, 16 coming in the second half.
John Allen added 14 points for Shorewood.
