Shorewood girl first in N. County meet

MARYSVILLE – Shorewood runner Hannah Veitmeier placed first overall Thursday in the North County girls cross country meet at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.

The 3-mile meet was separated into four groups based on class. Veitmeier, a sophomore, finished with an overall best time of 18 minutes, 57 seconds.

Rachel Botham, of Shorewood, led the senior class with a time of 18:59. Stanwood sophomore Alyson Piccolo (19:09) won her race and Cedarcrest freshman Caitlin Ramirez finished first with a time of 18:58.

Boys cross country

North County meet: King’s Alex Croutworst finished the North County meet first among seniors with a 3-mile time of 16 minutes, 10 seconds. Tyler Rapp, of Lakewood, was the top junior (15:57), Kevin Ruhlman (16:19) of Shorecrest, led the sophomores and Kyle Van Santen finished with a time of 16:33 to lead the freshmen.
