Shorewood runner finishes 4th in Hole in Wall

LAKEWOOD – Bobeya Krishnek of Mount Baker took the top spot at the Lakewood Hole in the Wall Inivitational cross country run on Saturday with a time of 18:30.1.

Krishnek led her team to finish fourth in a field that held four state-ranked teams in Gig Harbor, Bellarmine Prep, Mount Baker, and Sehome.

Gig Harbor took the team championship with 70 points followed closly by Bellarmine Prep with 77.

Celia Maclean captured fourth as teammate Tiffany Passi finished 31st to lead Shorewood to finish eighth.

Mountlake Terrace captured seventh led by Leandra Dick finishing 30th.

Other top local runners were: Sarah Revoyr of Lynnwood in seventh, Breann Picket finished 13th for Arlington and Nikki D’Amico of Lynnwood in 25th.

Boys Lakewood Hole in the Wall Invitational: Jon Skelton of Mount Vernon ran the 3.07 mile course in 15:55.6 to take top honors at the invitational. Danny Hayman finished sixth to lead Marysville-Pillchuck to a fourth-place finish. Lakewood finished fifth behind the strong running of Cameron Hartman, Andy Dewey and Marc Dewey finishing 22nd, 24th and 25th respectively

Hoquiam Invitational: South Whidbey won the girls competition at the Hoquiam Invitational with 85 points, 61 points ahead of closest competitor Inglemoor. Shorecrest finished ninth and Lake Stevens was 12th. Highest local finishers were Becky Gabelein of South Whidby (11th) and Amber Nickelson of Lake Stevens (12th), each finishing the 3.1 mile course in a time of 19:55. Julie Gabelelein was 13th, running two seconds behind her sister.

In the boys competition over the same course, Roosevelt won the team title. South Whidby finished fifth.

Snohomish 2, Mount Vernon 0: Courtney Nelson headed both goals for Snohomish off Lindsey Kihm’s corner kicks to take the Wesco North victory.

Mukilteo Invitational: Ksenia Kostenko won the 200 IM and Ashley Best the 100 breaststroke for Kamiak at the Mukilteo Invitational. Kamiak was second in the overall standings with 595 points. Mercer Island won the 20-team meet by a 300.5 point margin.
