YAKIMA – Kim Shin and Renee Skidmore continued their season-long dominance Monday.

Shorewood’s Shin shot a five-over par 77 and Skidmore from Cascade finished two strokes behind her in the first round of the Class 4A State championship at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Yakima. Leader Jill Ferrante from Battle Ground shot a par-72.

The next Wesco finisher was Shoko Natsume from Kamiak who is in 20th place after shooting a 83.

Oak Harbor’s Kate Waller shot a 40 over the first nine, but then followed with a 45 on the back nine to finish the first round in 26th place tied with Jackson’s Christine Lee.

Class 3A State Championship, first round: Sung E. Lee of Clover Park leads all qualifiers with Bellingham’s Lauren Ressler finishing with a 75, three strokes behind Lee. Lauren’s sister Blair finished in a three-way tie for eighth with an 81.

At Apple Tree G.C. (Yakima)

18 holes, par 72

Amanda Bleth (Columbia River) 79, 7. Breana Minnitti (Holy Names) 80, 8. Babe Prante (Black Hills), Sheena Prante (Black Hills), Blair Ressler (Bellingham) 81.

Class 2A State Championship, first round: South Whidbey finished four golfers in the top-20 after the first round. Taryn Langlois led all the Falcons with a sixth-place finish.

At Black Rock Creek G.C. (Tri-Cities)

18 holes, par 72

Individual results-6. Taryn Langlois (South Whidbey) 95, 13. Jennifer Pan (South Whidbey) and Hailie Mansfield (S-W) 101, 20. Adrienne Hawley, (S-W) 105.

Class A/B State Championship, first round: Orcas Island’s Danielle Johanneck finished in a four-way tie for eleventh-place with a 92.

At Columbia Point G.C. (Tri-Cities)

18 holes, par 72

Individual results-11. Danielle Johanneck (Orcas Island) 92.
