Silvertips Draft: Round by round

The Everett Silvertips selected 13 players in Thursday’s bantam draft. Players are listed with their position, height, weight and hometown.

1ST ROUND

Kevin Davis (11th overall), defenseman, 5-11, 155, Kamloops, B.C. Skinny: A mobile, puck-moving defenseman with high-end hockey sense. He had 15 goals and 31 assists in 49 games with the Kamloops Jardine Blazers.

3RD ROUND

Austin Mathews (57th overall), right wing, 5-10, 145, Phoenix, Ariz. Skinny: A highly-skilled forward with first-round potential who dropped because of questions about his commitment to the WHL. He had 11 goals and 11 assists in nine games with the Phoenix Firebirds.

Nik Amundrud (59th overall), goaltender, 6-0, 141, Melfort, Saskatchewan. Skinny: A puck-handling goaltender who led his team to the provincial championship. He was 6-3-2 with a 2.82 goals against average in 11 games with the North East Wolfpack.

Matt Fonteyne (66th overall), center, 5-7, 149, Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Skinny: A two-way forward with a good shot. He had 29 goals and 22 assists in 30 games with the Leduc Oil Kings.

4TH ROUND

Noah Juulsen (70th overall), defenseman, 5-11, 138, Abbotsford, B.C. Skinny: A puck-moving defenseman with a little edge to his game. His stats with the Abbotsford Hawks were unavailable.

5TH ROUND

Jordan Wharrie (98th overall), defenseman, 5-10, 140, Port Moody, B.C. Skinny: A puck-moving defenseman who was the top player on a team playing a level lower. His stats with Port Moody were unavailable.

6TH ROUND

Patrick Bajkov (128th overall), right wing, 5-9, 140, Nanaimo, B.C. Skinny: A winger who plays an offensive game. His stats with the Nanaimo Clippers were unavailable.

7TH ROUND

Daniel Woolfenden (136th overall), defenseman, 5-9, 155, Mill Creek. Skinny: A defenseman with skill who’s also the first local product ever drafted by the Tips. His stats with Seattle Sno-King were unavailable.

8TH ROUND

Carson Richards (158th overall), right wing, 5-10, 150, Vernon, B.C. Skinny: A hard-working player with some sandpaper to his game. He had 28 goals, 25 assists and 93 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Vernon Renegades.

9TH ROUND

Jake Durflinger (180th overall), right wing, 5-7, 160, Walnut Creek, Calif. Skinny: A small and speedy forward who plays on the edge. He had three goals, three assists and 18 penalty minutes in nine games with the Phoenix Firebirds.

10TH ROUND

Desmond Nevin (201st overall), defenseman, 6-6, 190, Steinbach, Manitoba. Skinny: A towering defenseman who’s a bit of a project. His stats with the Southwest Jets were not available.

11TH ROUND

Michael Wirth (220th overall), right wing, 5-7, 190, Morden, Manitoba. Skinny: A stocky winger whose strength is his shot. His stats and team were not available.

12TH ROUND

Alec Mehr (231st overall), center, 5-10, 160, Irvine, Calif. Skinny: A two-way forward who would have been selected in the top two rounds, but is believed to be leaning toward the U.S. National Team Development Program. He had five goals and four assists in 10 games with the LA Selects.
