EVERETT — Jackson Berezowski scored twice and the Everett Silvertips raced out to a four-goal lead before hanging on late in a 5-3 win over the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Berezowki, Roan Woodward, Ryan Hofer and Eric Jamieson scored unanswered goals as the Silvertips built a 4-0 lead early in the third period.
But three goals in a 5-minute span from Parker Bell, Reese Belton and Alex Serraglio pulled the Americans to within one at 4-3 with just under 5 minutes to play.
Berezowski added an empty-net goal at 18:10 as the Silvertips hung on for the win to snap a brief two-game losing streak.
Braden Holt made 39 saves and Austin Roest had three assists for Everett (16-12-1-0).
Nick Avakyan had 39 saves for the Americans (14-14-0-0).
