Silvertips hold off Chiefs for 3rd straight victory

Jackson Berezowski and Ben Hemmerling score, and Tyler Palmer makes 34 saves in Everett’s 2-1 win.

SPOKANE — Jackson Berezowski scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the second period and Tyler Palmer made 34 saves as the Everett Silvertips beat the Spokane Chiefs 2-1 on Friday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Ben Hemmerling scored in the first period and Berezowski added his goal in the second as the Silvertips took a 2-0 lead into the final frame.

Cade Hayes broke up the shutout with a goal at 12:01 in the third period for the Chiefs.

Hemmerling, Kaden Hammell and Austin Roest added assists for Everett (26-22-2-0), which won its third straight game.

Dawson Cowan made 34 saves in goal for Spokane (9-35-2-3).

The two teams meet again on Saturday at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, with the puck drop scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
