Moar, of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, was a fifth-round pick by Everett in the 2016 bantam draft. Belluk, of Lorrette, Manitoba, was Everett’s 10th-round selection in the same draft. Both players competed for their respective provincial teams at last season’s Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup.
“Alex and Danton have taken significant strides in their game over the past year,” Everett general manager Garry Davidson said in a press release. “Alex brings terrific skating ability, along with a very efficient and steady identity. Danton’s progress and talent was on full display all throughout camp – his size and composure are two very encouraging qualities in a goaltender. We’re proud to welcome them to the Silvertips family.”
Moar scored a goal and had 22 assists in 40 regular-season games with the Prince Albert Mintos last season, and added three goals and added three goals and an assist in eight playoff games.
Belluk had a 13-5 record, a 2.72 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 18 regular-season games, and a 2.50 GAA and a .932 save percentage in four playoff games for the Eastman Selects midget AAA team.
The Tips have now signed their first five picks and seven of their 12 selections from the 2016 bantam draft.
Belluk is the second goaltender from the 2001-born group as he joins Dustin Wolf, who signed last spring and is recovering from offseason hip surgery.
Moar is the first defenseman signed from that draft class. The only other blueliner Everett took in 2016 was sixth-rounder Aaron Hladiuk. He remains unsigned.
The Silvertips open their preseason schedule Friday at 7 p.m. against the Tri-City Americans at Xfinity Arena.
