Vitelli was a fourth-round pick and 83rd overall by the Silvertips in the 2016 bantam draft. He becomes the fifth member of that draft class to ink with the Tips, joining first-round pick Ethan Browne, third-rounder Mark Liwiski, fifth-rounder Dustin Wolf and seventh-rounder Conrad Mitchell.
“Reece demonstrated outstanding qualities that drew plenty of attention during phase one of training camp,” Everett general manager Garry Davidson said in a press release “He has shown commitment to a 200-foot game and was offensively reliable during the playoffs, last season in Winnipeg. It brings great excitement to welcome Reece to the Silvertips family and we are proud of his decision to choose the Western Hockey League as his next step of development.”
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Vitelli is listed at 5-10 and 155 pounds.
He tallied nine goals and 19 assists in 36 games with the Winnipeg Wild midget AAA team. He added three goals and six assists in 11 postseason games as the Wild won the league title.
Vitelli averaged more than two points per game in 2015-16 when he tallied 32 goals and 37 assists in 34 regular-season games for the Winnipeg Warriors bantam AAA.
