The Silvertips may have seen their six-game winning streak come to an end and scored just four goals in their last two games. Yet they remain in first place in the U.S. Division, just one point out of first in the Western Conference and sixth in the CHL rankings.
Also of note: they’re ranked first in the WHL in the Massey Ratings.
The team held an hour-long on-ice session today that included blocking pucks after the Tips surrendered 33 shots in Saturday’s 3-2 loss at Spokane. That came after they held the Portland Winterhawks to 24 shots in a 2-1 win Friday.

Lucas Skrumeda was once again a full-go at practice as he recovers from a broken finger. He said he will play “if coach puts me in the lineup,” so that means he is cleared. Brett Kemp (undisclosed) and Graham Millar (upper body) were not at practice and are not expected to travel to Kamloops for Wednesday’s game with the Blazers. However, Bryce Kindopp skated alone after practice and is expected to make Wednesday’s trip.

One reason for Everett’s early-season success is no doubt due to the increased contribution on the offensive end from captain Noah Juulsen. The 19-year-old defenseman matched his total from a year ago with his seventh goal of the season Saturday, and he also has eight assists. There was some concern among Montreal Canadiens fans as Juulsen slipped from 63 points in his draft season to 28 last season. Juulsen’s recent production should do something to alleviate those concerns for Habs fans. You can check out his goal from Saturday below:
