EVERETT — Ben Hemmerling scored the go-ahead goal at the 9:42 mark of the second period and the Everett Silvertips pulled away to beat the Spokane Chiefs 5-2 on Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Beau Courtney, Caden Zaplitny, Aidan Sutter and Kyan Grouette also scored goals for the Silvertips (22-9-1-0, 45 points), who scored the goals in the second period. Ty Gibson chipped in two assists.
Will McIssac and Chase Bertholet netted goals for the Chiefs (8-29-1-2, 19 points), who led 2-1 after the first.
Tyler Palmer recorded 25 saves for Everett. Cooper Michaluk stopped 29 shots for Spokane.
