EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips trimmed their roster by reassigning three players on Tuesday.
Seventeen-year-old winger Kyle Raymond, 16-year-old defenseman Jordan Wharrie and 16-year-old goaltender Nik Amundrud will spend this season at lower levels. Raymond is trying out for Surrey of the junior A British Columbia Hockey League, Wharrie will play for Port Moody of the junior B Pacific International Junior Hockey League, and Amundrud will return for a second season with Tisdale of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.
The moves leave Everett with 28 players on the roster — 17 forwards, nine defensmen and two goaltenders. Winger Linden Penner (Calgary) and goaltender Austin Lotz (Carolina) returned from their NHL rookie camps Tuesday, meaning four Everett players remain with their NHL teams. Forwards Reid Petryk and Jujhar Khaira and defenseman Ben Betker are still with Edmonton, while defenseman Mirco Mueller remains with San Jose.
