Silvertips surrender 6 unanswered goals in loss to Red Deer

Everett coughed up an early 2-0 lead in the second period midway through a 5-game road trip.

RED DEER, Alberta — The Everett Silvertips squandered a two-goal lead and fell to the Red Deer Rebels, 6-2, on Monday night at the Westerner Park Centrium.

After goals from Wyatte Wylie and Aidan Sutter spotted the Silvertips a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Rebels erupted for four consecutive goals to capture the victory on home ice. Two empty-net goals with the goalie pulled iced the game for Red Deer.

The Silvertips play Edmonton on Thursday, the top team in the Eastern Conference, before two consecutive games at Prince George on Friday and Saturday to finish a five-game road trip.
