Scouting report

Everett and Brandon face each other in a rare afternoon game on Rememberance Day in Canada.

Everett (9-6-2-2, 22 points, second in the U.S. Division) is trying to bounce back from an embarrassing 3-1 loss at Moose Jaw on Tuesday, when the Silvertips handed the Warriors their first win in 20 attempts.

Brandon (7-6-3-1, 18 points, tied for second in the East Division) has cooled off a bit since going undefeated through the first three weeks of the season. The Wheat Kings have tied their past two games, most recently a 2-2 draw at Swift Current on Saturday.

The Wheat Kings feature one of the most explosive offensive duos in the Western Hockey League in 19-year-old forwards Ryan Stone and Eric Fehr. Going into Wednesday night’s games, Stone (12 goals, 15 assists) was tied for first in the league in scoring with 27 points, and Fehr (15 goals, eight assists) was second in the league in goals. Brandon also has strong supporting players in 20-year-old forwards Tim Konsorada (four goals, 16 assists) and Lance Monych (five goals, three assists in nine games).

Brandon’s goal-tending duties have been shared evenly by 17-year-old Tyler Plante (5-3-1, 2.76 goals-against average, .912 save percentage) and 18-year-old Mike Nichol (2-4-2, 3.07 goals-against average, .909 save percentage).
