Scouting report
Tonight is the penultimate game of Everett’s six-game swing through the Central Division, as well as the only meeting of the season between Everett and Lethbridge. The Hurricanes won 5-4 when the teams met in Everett last season.
Lethbridge (5-11-2-0) is trying to right itself after starting the season in disastrous fashion. The Hurricanes opened with six straight defeats, including some lopsided decisions. The Hurricanes made some roster moves to shore up some deficiencies and are 5-5-2-0 since.
Lethbridge’s problem wasn’t scoring goals, and the Hurricanes have a number of dangerous offensive players. Eighteen-year-old right wing Carter Ashton (nine goals, nine assists) was a first-round pick in this year’s NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s supported by 20-year-old left wing Carter Bancks (five goals, 15 assists) and 18-year-old center Cam Braes (seven goals, 11 assists).
The Hurricanes bolstered themselves at the back with the acquisitions of 19-year-old defenseman Mike Reddington (11 assists) and 20-year-old goaltender Linden Rowat (4-2-2-0, 3.20 goals against average, .900 save percentage), though Rowat is questionable with a foot injury.
