Scouting report
Tonight is the sixth of eight meetings between Everett (21-21-6-1) and Spokane (30-14-0-3) this season, as well as their second matchup in a week in Everett — the Chiefs won 5-1 last Wednesday. Spokane leads the season series 4-1.
Everett isn’t the only team Spokane has victimized recently. The Chiefs are the hottest team in the league, having won eight straight. That includes a 5-2 home victory over U.S. Division-leading Tri-City in its last game Saturday. Spokane trails Tri-City by six points for first place in the U.S. Division, and the Chiefs have three games in hand.
Spokane is powered offensively by two fantastic lines. Nineteen-year-old left wing Drayson Bowman (20 goals, 22 assists), 18-year-old center Mitch Wahl (21 goals, 17 assists) and 19-year-old center Ondrej Roman (three goals, six assists in seven games) are the catalysts.
Spokane also has a deep and experienced back end, led by 17-year-old defenseman Jared Cowen (six goals, 13 assists) and 19-year-old goaltender Dustin Tokarski (21-9-0-2, 1.88 goals against average, .940 save percentage).
