The Warriors arrive today for their lone meeting with Everett this season.
Moose Jaw (30-18-8-1, second in the East Division) has already clinched a playoff spot. However, the Warriors have not fared well on their trip through the U.S. Division. After starting out with a 3-1 victory at Spokane on Friday, Moose Jaw followed up with a 4-2 loss at Portland on Saturday and a 3-1 loss at Tri-City on Sunday.
The Warriors have two of the most gifted offensive players in the Western Hockey League in 19-year-old forwards Kyle Brodziak and Tomas Fleischmann. Brodziak is currently third in the WHL in scoring with 75 points (35 goals, 40 assists). Fleischmann has 23 goals and 38 assists, despite missing several games while playing for the Czech Republic at the World Junior Championships.
Moose Jaw’s blue line is manned by 20-year-old Aaron Rome (nine goals, 36 assists) and 19-year-old Johnny Boychuk (12 goals, 13 assists). In goal, Mike Brodeur has been one of the league’s best. The 20-year-old is 15-9-5 with a 2.23 goals against average (fourth in the WHL) and a .924 save percentage (second in the WHL).
For Everett (25-20-7-2), today’s game begins a week that includes four home contests. The Silvertips, two points out of first place in the U.S. Division, play co-division leaders Portland and Tri-City on Friday and Saturday, respectively, then entertain Brandon on Sunday.
