Silvertips vying to host 2010 Memorial Cup

EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips are among three Western Hockey League teams seeking to host the 2010 Mastercard Memorial Cup.

The other clubs are the Brandon Wheat Kings and Kelowna Rockets.

The bid presentations will take place at the Oct. 15 WHL Board of Governors meeting in Calgary, Alberta. The board then will vote and a decision on which club will host the 2010 Memorial Cup will be announced later.

The Mastercard Memorial Cup is a Canadian Hockey League event which features the champions of the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and WHL competing in a four team tournament format with the WHL host club.
