The Skoog siblings from Jackson High School raced in the Foot Locker West Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Southern California.
Joseph Skoog, a senior, placed 29th out of 221 runners in the boys championship race with a time of 16 minutes, 13.5 seconds on the 5,000-meter course at Mount San Antonio College. Anna Skoog, a junior, placed 112th in the girls championship race with a time of 21:04.4.
The West Regional meet included runners from 11 states and is one of four Foot Locker regional competitions held across the country. The top 10 boys and top 10 girls advanced to the Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals.
Last month, Joseph placed third in the Class 4A boys state meet with a personal-best time of 15:21.5. Anna placed 38th in the 4A girls state meet with a time of 19:42.2.
