We’re about 30 minutes from kickoff, and if you’re sitting around waiting for the game to start, here’s some UW vs. Stanford reading to kill the time.
We had this story today, looking at the somewhat resurgent (hey, they’re only 3-5) Stanford football team. Also, I didn’t get around to linking to it yesterday, but if you missed it, here’s our football friday column about the Huskies trying to come out and play angry today.
The San Francisco Chronicle has a story on Stanford, which is trying to win it’s first conference game at their new stadium, which opened last season. Speaking of which, the new Stanford Stadium is quite the nice facility. The closeness of the seats to the field and great sidelines make you wish Husky Stadium could get rid of that track.
The San Jose Mercury News has this story previewing the game.
One quick not of interest as the team warms up. Freshman tailback Curtis Shaw has been lining up at wide receiver on a couple of plays. Not sure if we should read a whole lot into that yet, but it’s something to keep an eye on. It could just be that the Huskies are trying to find other ways to use Shaw this year since he’s already played and can’t be redshirted. Also, it looks like J.R. Hasty didn’t make the trip. Prior to leaving and rejoining the team, Hasty had been at all of Washington’s road games this season.
