OAKLAND, Calif. – Rashard Lewis hit a follow shot with 13 seconds left in overtime and Gary Payton made a pair of free throws eight seconds later as the Seattle SuperSonics beat the Golden State Warriors for the ninth consecutive time, 111-108 Friday night.

Lewis finished with 24 and Payton had 20 for the Sonics, winners of their last three and four of five.

Jason Richardson and Larry Hughes each scored 24 points to lead the Warriors, who overcame a 22-point halftime deficit but still dropped to 2-2 under coach Brian Winters.

Antwan Jamison had 17 points for Golden State while Danny Fortson had 17 rebounds to go with 13 points.

Vin Baker scored 18, Desmond Mason had 16 and Brent Barry had 15 for the Sonics.

Adonal Foyle scored eight points and had eight rebounds in 17 minutes in his first appearance since Winters took over for the fired Dave Cowens a week ago.

Richardson stole an inbounds pass, went the length of the court, made the layup and the ensuing foul shot to tie the score at 96 with 1:13 remaining in regulation, highlighting a 26-9 Warriors comeback.

The nine points scored by Seattle in the fourth quarter was a season low.

After Payton missed a short jumper, Sura grabbed the rebound and Golden State called timeout with 33 seconds left.

The Warriors weren’t able to get off a shot as Payton stripped Richardson of the ball, but Seattle also missed two short jumpers to send the game into overtime.

The Sonics took a big lead in the second quarter, shooting 89 percent from the field – they were 20-for-22 – with eight different players contributing. The only misses came when Mason missed a short jumper with 3:30 left that Baker tipped in for a score, and when Baker threw up a desparation shot from 72 feet at the buzzer.

While the NBA does not keep records for highest shooting percentage in a quarter, the Sonics produced one of the top performances ever. Barry and Payton each made four shots in the quarter.

Seattle scored a season-high 44 points in the quarter and 71 points in the half. Of the 20 baskets, 11 were either layups or dunks. Barry’s 28-footer was the longest made basket of the period. Mason and Vladimir Radmanovic also each hit a 3-pointer.

The Sonics missed their first six shots in the third quarter and were 3-of-13 overall, but the Warriors could only cut the deficit to 14 points before the Sonics took an 87-70 lead into the final period.
