Mason to miss road trip with hurt knee: Sonics guard Desmond Mason will miss the team’s road trip to Minnesota and Detroit because of a sprained right knee.

Mason was injured in the first quarter of Sunday’s 97-83 win over Milwaukee after colliding with the Bucks’ Anthony Mason while diving for a loose ball.

But he returned and finished the game with 16 points on 8-for-9 shooting. The injury became worse Monday, the team said.

Mason is Seattle’s fifth-leading scorer at 13.6 points per game, and he also averages 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Seattle center Calvin Booth missed his eighth game of the season Sunday with a sore right ankle. But Booth was traveling with the team, though it was unknown whether he would play tonight at Minnesota and Wednesday at Detroit.
