South Whidbey claims 1st win

GRANITE FALLS – The ball changed hands three times in the last four minutes as two winless teams fought desperately for their first football win Friday.

Granite Falls scored with a minute to play to narrow the gap to three points. But South Whidbey recovered the ensuing onside kickoff to preserve its 15-12 North Cascades victory.

Granite Falls’ Todd Brown carried 20 times for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Andy Wills led the Falcons with 77 yards rushing.

Jeremy Iverson threw a TD pass and ran for a touchdown for South Whidbey.
