DICKINSON, N.D. — Southwest Speedway in Dickinson is joining other race tracks in North Dakota in using transponders.
The electronic timing and scoring systems will replace lower-tech lap counters.
Roughrider Racing Association President Dale Burwick says transponders take away the possibility of human error.
The speedway also will have results plugged into the Web site www.mylaps.com, where drivers and fans can see speeds and finishes from each race.
