BOISE— Two steps forward, one step back.
One day after Everett completed a three-game sweep of Salem-Keizer to surge within a game of first place in the Northwest League West Division, the AquaSox lost a sea-saw battle with the Boise Hawks, dropping a 9-6 decision at Memorial Stadium in Boise Sunday night.
Boise’s Andrew Rundle hit a go-ahead RBI triple in the seventh inning, Kyler Burke added an insurance home run in the eighth and Boise scored three runs in the last two innings to pull away.
The loss snapped a four game winning streak for Everett and dropped the AquaSox to 15-18 on the season. Salem-Keizer defeated Spokane Sunday to extend its lead over the AquaSox.
