Stanwood has a new head football coach.
About a month after Aaron Cupp stepped down to leave for Texas, Stanwood hired Doug Trainor as its new head football coach earlier this week, according to The Bellingham Herald.
Trainor spent the past seven seasons coaching the Red Raiders. Bellingham was 27-44 under him, including 18-38 in Northwest League/Conference play. The Red Raiders went 2-8 last season, but were 0-7 in NWC play.
