Stanwood’s decides meet

SHORELINE – In high school cross country just the first five runners on a squad contribute to the team score. But that doesn’t mean the sixth guy doesn’t count.

He’s the tiebreaker.

Stanwood’s sixth runner, Kyle Balda, finished ahead of his Shorewood counterpart to decide Thursday’s Wesco meet at Hamlin Park. Both teams had tied with 31 points. Arlington was third with 74.
