MONROE — Tom Moriarity, the reigning Super Stock champion at Evergreen Speedway, returns to the 3/8-mile oval track tonight to defend his title and seek an unprecedented 9th championship.
In addition to Super Stocks, racing seasons also begin tonight at the speedway for Bombers and Mini-Stocks. In addition, the FEAR Super Figure Eights and Extreme Contact Figure Eights continue their seasons.
Racing begins starts with heats at 5:30 p.m. Main events start at 7pm. Tickets cost $12.50 for adults; $8.50 for juniors, seniors and military; and $4.50 for children. A Family Pass for two adults and up to four children costs $33.
Standing in Moriarity’s way for another title are challengers like former series champion John Zaretzke and long time series competitor Matt Murphy. Also competing are Gaylon Stewart, Roger Habich, and Joe Constance, who return after spending time on the prestigious NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Division Northwest Series circuit.
The Bombers Class filed is led by last season’s champion Dirk Kruiswyk. Scott LaCross will be back to defend his championship in the fast 4-cylinder Mini-Stocks series.
