It’s all over. The Everett Seagulls are state champions.
Brittany McMullen, Annie Sittauer and Valerie Stahl scored goals in the Everett High School girls soccer team’s 3-0 victory over Seattle Prep in the Class 3A state championship game.
It is Everett’s first girls soccer state title. The Seagulls’ previous best finish was fourth. The last two seasons Everett lost against Seattle Prep in the quarterfinals.
“It’s altogether overwhelming. First in state — we’ve been working at it forever now. It was unbelievable,” said Stahl, a senior defender who scored Everett’s third goal on a free kick.
