Class 3A and 4A

Where: South End Recreation Area, Tacoma

When: The 3A first round begins at 9 a.m. today. Quarterfinals start at 3 p.m. Consolation play begins at 1 p.m. and continues at 7 p.m. Semifinals and consolation play begin at 9 a.m. Saturday. The third-place game starts at 3:30 p.m., with the championship at 4:30.

The 4A first round begins at 11 a.m. today. Quarterfinals and consolation play start at 5 p.m. and continues at 9 p.m. Semifinals and consolation play begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. The third-place game starts at 3:30 p.m., with the championship at 4:30.

Local representatives:

Monroe (4A) – Pitcher Jordan Birch is 22-1 with a 0.39 ERA. Catcher Briar Stanley leads the Bearcats with a .463 batting average and an .852 slugging average (three doubles, three triples, four home runs). Infielder Sarah Elledge is batting .429. Monroe plays Inglemoor at 1 p.m. in the first round.

Lake Stevens (4A) – The Vikings rely on senior pitcher Athea Surface. Junior second baseman Alona Personius has hit several key home runs for Lake Stevens, which faces Central Kitsap in an 11 a.m. first-round game.

Jackson (4A) – The Timberwolves sport a potent offense led by senior second baseman Jenna Mohrweis (.492 BA, 15 RBI), senior first baseman Taryn Pearce (.500 BA, 29 RBI), senior pitcher Lauren Reid (.435 BA, 22 RBI) and sophomore outfielder Carly McEachran (.386 BA, 24 RBI). Jackson plays Shadle Park at 11 a.m. in the first round.

Everett (3A) – Everett pitcher Cory Mattson has 188 strikeouts in 112 innings. She has thrown two no-hitters, one a perfect game. She also bats .333 with two home runs and 17 RBI. Outfielder Jessica Carey is error-free in center and is hitting .409 with five doubles, three triples, three home runs and 19 RBI. Opponents are pitching around outfielder Alexandra Hudson (.367 BA), who has 17 walks. The Seagulls play North Central at 9 a.m. in the first round.

Class 2A

Where: Walla Walla Point Park, Wenatchee. When: First-round games begin at 10 a.m. today. Consolation play begins at 2 p.m. and continues at 6. The quarterfinals start at 4. Consolation and semifinal games begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. The third-place and championship games start at 2 p.m.

Local representatives:

Archbishop Murphy – Senior pitcher Kayelynne Huggins (.320 BA) is 13-3 with a 1.98 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 81 innings. Senior shortstop Kaitlin Duffy (.393 BA) is 13-for-13 in stolen base attempts. Junior outfielder Kristin Ehlebracht is batting .485, while sophomore third baseman Jaimee Greenup is hitting .490 and has struck out only once all season. The Wildcats play Sequim at 10 a.m. in the first round.

Cedarcrest – Junior pitcher Hillary Barker is a two-time all-Cascade Conference selection. Junior catcher Marissa Botts and junior infielder Erica Taylor were first-team picks last season. Senior outfielder Kristina Tolley and junior infielder Betsy Anderson made the second team. Cedarcrest meets Colville at noon in a first-round game.
