I hope this dry, fairly warm weather holds up all weekend. On Saturday I will be at Snohomish High School’s Veterans Memorial Stadium for the annual Eason Invitational track and field meet.
I look forward to covering the Eason every spring. It’s a fun, well-attended meet that attracts many of the state’s elite male and female T&F standouts. A few teams from Canada usually make the trip down too, giving the Eason a little international flavor.
I’m working on an Eason Invite preview that will appear in The Herald on Saturday. The invite, which will feature about 1,300 athletes from around 60 teams, starts at 8 a.m. with the men’s hammer throw.
On Sunday check The Herald for stories, photos and results from the meet. Or, if you can’t wait that long, check this blog for live updates on Saturday.
While we’re on the subject of track and field, take a look at the state’s leaders. Here are links to Washington high school T&F performance lists, compiled on Athletic.net.
