EVERETT — The coaching staff that has led the Washington Stealth to back-to-back NLL Champion’s Cup games will be back for 2012 the team announced on Tuesday.
Chris Hall will return for his fourth season as head coach, as well as assistant coaches Art Webster, Dan Stroup, Rick Lum and Dave Evans. Kevin Alexander will also rejoin the Stealth in his role as Director of Player Development.
“As an organization we are very pleased to have our entire coaching staff return for the 2012 season,” Stealth general manager Doug Locker said in a press release. “It is a remarkable group of very talented lacrosse minds, who represent the best the NLL has to offer.”
Hall, who also maintains his role as the team’s Vice President of Lacrosse Operations, is currently fourth on the list of NLL regular season coaching victories with 69. He is one of three coaches in the history of the league to win a championship with two different teams, Calgary in 2004 and the Stealth in 2010. Since Hall took the reins in the 2009 season, the team is 27-16 in the regular season and 6-2 in playoff games.
“We are especially thrilled to have Chris Hall return as our head coach and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations,” Locker said. “Chris has demonstrated over the years that he is the best in the business and we are thrilled to have his expertise not only on the floor, but in the front office as well.”
Hall said he believes having stability within the coaching staff has a positive effect on the players.
“Having consistency in our coaching staff is a huge reason for our recent success,” Hall said in the Stealth press release. “This group brings with it a wealth of experience and skills and provides a great deal of resources that our players can tap into.”
The Stealth season begins in January, with training camp scheduled to begin this fall.
