The Colorado Mammoth are going to have quite a few lacrosse fans from the Pacific Northwest pulling for them tonight.
If the Mammoth (5-10) beat the Minnesota Swarm (7-8) in the final regular-season game of the 2011 National Lacrosse League season, the Everett-based Washington Stealth clinch second place in the NLL’s West Division and open the playoffs next weekend at home.
The Stealth completed their regular season last week with an 8-8 record and lead Minnesota by a half game in the West Division standings.
If Minnesota loses tonight, the Stealth play the Swarm in a West Division semifinal on April 30 at Comcast Arena. If Minnesota, which holds the tie-breaker over the Stealth, wins tonight, the semifinal contest will be played in Minneapolis.
The Colorado-Minnesota game faces off at 5:30 p.m. PDT today. It can be seen live on NLL.com.
