EVERETT–Washington Stealth forward Rhys Duch has been named the National Lacrosse League Overall Player of the Week for his performance in the Stealth’s Week 14 overtime win against the Minnesota Swarm.
Duch scored five goals, added five assists for a total of 10 points, and also collected 12 loose balls in the 16-15 win. He assisted on the game-tying goal with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation, and also scored the game-winning goal only 30 seconds into the overtime period.
Duch, who is in his third NLL season, currently sits second in the league with 84 points, and is tied for the league lead with 40 goals. He also leads the NLL with five game-winning goals, including two overtime winners.
With the victory, the Stealth now control their own destiny in playoff seeding. A win Saturday against the Rochester Knighthawks at Comcast Arena will secure a second place finish in the Western Division. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
