The National Lacrosse League on Wednesday named Washington defenseman Jeff Moleski its Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Stealth’s 20-7 victory over Colorado on Friday.
Moleski, 29, collected his first career hat trick in the game, along with helping the Stealth def
ense allow a season-low seven goals. Two of Moleski’s goals came in an eight-goal second quarter. His final tally, in the four period, extended the Stealth’s advantage to 14-4.
The goals were Moleski’s first in a Stealth uniform. He was acquired in an offseason trade with the Calgary Roughnecks. In nine games this season, Moleski has seven points (three goals, four assists).
Moleski, a recent selection to represent Team Canada in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships, has appeared in 94 games in seven NLL seasons. He has career totals of 31 goals, 40 assists and 528 loose balls.
