NBA commissioner David Stern calls Seattle’s latest bid to save the Sonics a “late PR stunt.”
Stern told ESPN Radio if the $75 million offer had come a year ago it might have made a difference.
Stern says the pending move of the NBA franchise to Oklahoma City is a reflection on government and not fair for Seattle fans.
The city is offering $75 million and looking for another $75 million from the state to renovate Key Arena. That would match the $150 million four private investors are offering to put into the arena in addition to spending $350 million for the Sonics or another team.
