Storm defeat Sparks in preseason opener

The Seattle Storm defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 67-66 in both teams preseason opener on Sunday. Alysha Clark’s 15-foot jumper with six seconds remaining proved to be the difference.

Tina Thompson and Tianna Hawkins led the Storm with eight points apiece and Noelle Quinn added six points and seven rebounds.

Ebony Hoffman scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds to lead the Sparks.

Seattle will face Tulsa at KeyArena this Friday in the second and final preseason game of 2013 The Storm open the regular season on May 26 against Los Angeles on the road.
