SEATTLE — Breanna Stewart had 22 points and nine rebounds and the Seattle Storm escaped with a 79-78 victory over the San Antonio Stars on Friday night when Kelsey Plum’s basket with 0.8 seconds left was ruled a 2-pointer after a review showed her toe on the 3-point line.

Alysha Clark made two free throws, and Jewell Loyd one to give Seattle (13-16) a 79-76 lead.

Seattle, which beat league-leading Minnesota on Wednesday night, was taking on a Stars team (7-23) that had already been eliminated from the playoff chase but came in with four wins in its previous five games. The Stars led by 11 in the second half before the Storm rallied.

Loyd added 18 points and Sue Bird, who missed the Minnesota game with knee soreness, added 14 for Seattle, which is tied with Dallas for the final playoff spot.

Dearica Hamby had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Stars, and Kayla McBride addied 19 points. Plum, the No. 1 overall pick from the University of Washington who had a poor outing in her first pro visit to Seattle on June 18, scored 15 points.
