The second quarter of tonight’s game was played just about as well as the first, just not quite as fast paced. The Dream still lead 50-42 and with the exception of about 30 seconds of game time, Atlanta has led throughout.
This game has a troublesome feel about it. Most of the time at the Key, it is the Storm that make the big shot. Tonight that is not the case, every time the Storm cut the lead, it is the Dream that are making to clutch shot to re-extend it.
The Storm are still led by Katie Smith, who has 11 points, Swin Cash has chipped in nine and Sue Bird has eight points and three assists.
Angel McCoughtry has 11 to lead the Dream, Iziane Castro Marques and Sancho Lyttle both chipped in 10 for Atlanta.
Both teams are still shooting 50 percent or better. The problem for the Storm seems to be what has plagued them in their recent road losses — turnovers. The Storm committed 10 turnovers in the first half that resulted in 13 Atlanta points.
Rest assured that coach Brian Agler is reminding his team about those turnovers in the locker room right now. If the Storm are able to limit turnovers in the second half, they should have no problem cutting into this lead and possibly earning a ninth straight win at KeyArena.
