The second quarter offensive effort was much like the first for the Storm as they take a 43-37 lead into halftime.
They shot just 5-for-12 from the field, but more importantly they continued to attack the rim and be aggressive. Sue Bird scored six more points and leads all scorers with 15. She is shooting 5-for-7 from the field.
The offense certainly isn’t a problem — the defense on the other hand could use a little work. Seattle is defending well, but late breakdowns in the shot clock and not guarding the perimeter are hurting them.
On Saturday it was in the third quarter that the Storm put the Sparks away.
It will be interesting if the Storm’s defensive effort in the third quarter can match the outstanding play of their offense and put the Mystics away.
