HILLSBORO, Ore. — Spencer Packard hit a leadoff home run, Justin Lavey tripled and scored twice and the streaking Everett AquaSox beat the Hillsboro Hops 5-2 on Saturday night for their sixth straight win.
The AquaSox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning. Packard led off the game with a shot to right field, James Parker added a run-scoring single and another run scored on an error.
Juan Merceded started for Everett (26-29) and allowed only one hit and no runs in three innings while striking out four. Isaiah Campbell pitched a clean ninth inning with a strikout to earn the save.
Neyfy Castillo had two of the four hits in the game for Hillsboro (26-28).
