Nate Trichler, the C team coach the past two years, was elevated Friday to head coach of the varsity boys basketball program at Sultan High School.
Trichler, who teaches business at Sultan, replaced Jamie Rowe, whose contract was not renewed in a controversial decision by the school administration.
“He (Rowe) wrote me a letter of recommendation,” Trichler said. “I’m just looking forward to the future now.”
Trichler said he was motivated to seek the position by a desire to “move up.”
