The Minnesota Lynx extended their franchise-best winning streak to nine games on Sunday with an 84-78 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

With the win, the Lynx extended their lead in the Western Conference to four games over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

Lindsay Whalen scored 24 points and Seimone Augustus added 19 for the Lynx (16-4). DeLisha Milton-Jones scored 18 points to lead the Sparks (7-13).

The Connecticut Sun earned a big road victory over the Phoenix Mercury, 96-95 in overtime. Tina Charles made a 12-footer with five seconds left in the extra session to secure the win.

Renee Montgomery scored 28 points and Asjha Jones scored 27 to lead the Sun (13-7). Diana Taurasi led the Mercury (11-9) with 29 points.

The Sun gained a game on the Indiana Fever with the help of the Chicago Sky. The Sky defeated the Fever 88-69 on Sunday.

Sylvia Fowles and Shay Murphy each scored 21 points to lead the Sky (10-12). Katie Douglas scored 14 points to lead the Fever (15-7).

In Sunday’s other game, the Atlanta Dream defeated the Seattle Storm 70-53. The Dream improved to 9-11, while the Storm dropped to 12-9.
