Super expensive experience

Editors note: Staff writer Kirby Arnold is in Arizona, preparing to cover the Seattle Mariners in spring training. While there, he was assigned the task of writing a story about the “Super Bowl experience.”

Here is an e-mail he sent to the sports editor early last week:

Dear Editor,

Having a wonderful time in Arizona, but it looks like I’ll need some advance money in order to write that “Super Bowl experience” story you suggested. I’ve compiled a list of the major parties, dinners, concerts and events that make this a week unlike any other in sports. Unfortunately, there’s an admission fee for almost all of them.
