Takeaways help Mariner beat Todd Beamer, 52-37

EVERETT — The Mariner Marauders continued to cruise through their non-conference schedule.

Mariner won its third non-conference contest of the season Thursday night with a 52-37 win over Todd Beamer at Mariner High School.

Adrian Black scored 14 points and had five steals and teammate Michael Minor added five more steals for the Marauders (6-1 overall), who finished with 17 steals in the game.

The Marauders jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Todd Beamer tied it at 8-8.

Mariner then scored the next five and never looked back.

Nick Malysheff added six points and seven boards for the Maruaders and Damascus Purnell added five rebounds.

Mariner finished 20-for-25 from the free-throw line.
