Last week was one full of uncertainty for quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. He practice a little bit having missed the previous game with a pectoral strain, but backup Charlie Whitehurst took the bulk of the reps in practice. Still, Jackson knew there was a shot he would play, particularly after he amped things up on Friday. Even so, he went into Sunday’s game not sure of what would happen, and while Whitehurst ended up starting, Jackson took over in the second quarter and finished the game.
This week, however, Jackson is practicing fully, and there is no doubt in his mind what will happen Sunday in Dallas.
“I feel a lot better,” he said. “I know I’m going to play Sunday now. Last Sunday it was like, ‘I think I’m going to play.’ But there was the chance that, coming in Sunday, my arm might not respond right. But now I’m very sure I’ll probably play Sunday.”
But despite that confident stance, Jackson knows he won’t be 100 percent any time soon: “It’s going to be sore pretty much the whole season, I think but the point is just to get in as much practice time as I can and get as many reps as I can in and be ready to play on Sundays.”
